Vintage 1977 U.S. Air Force Women’s Black Leather Uniform Handbag — H. Margolin  An exceptional piece of American military and fashion history.  Authentic vintage U.S. Air Force women’s uniform handbag, manufactured by H. Margolin & Co., Inc. under U.S. government contract. The original interior military label remains intact and identifies the bag as:  HANDBAG, WMN’S, LEATHER, BLACK Chrome Hardware — AF Class 2 Contract No. DSA 100-77C-0378 Stock No. 8445-00-404-1050 H. Margolin & Co., Inc.  The DSA contract numbering is consistent with a 1977-era contract, placing this piece firmly in the late 1970s.  Crafted from genuine black leather with a beautifully structured silhouette, pointed envelope-style flap, silver/chrome turn-lock closure, long shoulder strap and protective metal feet. The restrained design was intended to complement a woman’s Air Force uniform while remaining functional and polished.  What makes this handbag particularly special is its surviving government contract label—an incredible detail connecting the piece directly to its original military purpose.  Condition: Authentic vintage condition with visible surface scuffs, scratches and age-related wear throughout, as photographed. Hardware shows natural aging.
