This could be considered a piece of art. It is a stunning vintage/antique statement brooch featuring a large, brilliant faceted sapphire-blue glass jewel set in an ornate brass filigree frame. It is in the Art Deco / Bohemian / Czech revival style. It was designed with beautiful leaf-designed corner prongs, intricate lace filigree gallery, and an open-back setting that catches the light beautifully. Antiqued brass is probably the base metal with faceted cut blue glass placed in the center of the piece. The brooch is over 1.5 across and is in very good vintage condition with rich age-appropriate brass patina and strong clasp mechanism. Unmarked.
