Studio Pottery Pitcher Tenmoku Iron Glaze Fluted Stoneware Signed Stamp 6"
Handmade
Beautiful hand-thrown studio pottery pitcher featuring a rich tenmoku-style iron glaze — deep brown-black breaking to warm rust-red where thin along the rim and shoulder, the classic result of reduction firing an iron-saturated glaze. The lower body is carved with vertical fluting that catches the glaze in a lovely striped light-and-dark effect, and the neck is decorated with a coordinating banded stripe pattern. A comfortable pulled handle and well-formed spout make this both a striking and functional piece. The shoulder bears an impressed square maker's stamp; I wasn't able to positively identify the specific potter, so this is offered as unattributed studio pottery — a lovely example of quality iron-glaze ceramic work regardless. Stands approximately 6 tall. Great as a functional pitcher for water, milk, or syrup, or displayed as a striking accent piece. Condition: Good used/studio condition. No chips or cracks noted. Glaze pooling and breaking is intentional to the glaze type, not damage. Please review all photos closely, as they form part of the description.
