This is a 14x5 inch Ludwig Black Beauty snare drum, a legendary instrument.
It was purchased new from a musical instrument store a year and a half ago.
The hoops have been changed from the traditional pressed hoops to Pearl die-cast hoops to get closer to the specifications of Jeff Porcaro in his later years. Please be aware of this modification.
It has a rich low-mid range and warmth that belies its 5-inch depth.
This is a truly wonderful snare, but I am selling it now to reorganize my equipment.
The strainer moves smoothly.
There are some minor marks on the hoop on the batter side.
