Vintage Japanese Dachibin Sake Flask Mid Century Okinawan Folk Pottery Awamori
N/A
Description Vintage Japanese dachibin, a traditional crescent-shaped flask associated with Okinawa and the Ryukyu Islands. Handmade from brown clay with expressive white, green, yellow, and dark brown glazing, including a subtle flower-like motif on the front. Two small side loops would traditionally accommodate a cord or strap. Dachibin were designed with a curved profile to rest against the hip and were traditionally used to carry awamori, sake, or water. This unsigned example likely dates to the mid-20th century and makes a wonderful piece of Japanese folk pottery or wabi-sabi decor. Size Approximately 4 wide x 3.5 tall. Condition Good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Please see photos for details and ask with any questions. Thanks!
