Preowned Hansa Glass Coat of Arms Beer Mug 0.5L. No cracks or chips. Measures approximately. 5 inches tall by 3 inches wide front to back by 5 3/4 inches wide to handle.  For whatever reason this mug is marked France on the bottom. One Side: Shows half of a black German Imperial eagle on a yellow field, representing the Holy Roman Empire.The The other Side: Shows a crowned stockfish (cod) on a red field, representing the lucrative medieval stockfish trade.  The central crest is framed by ears of barley and hops, which are the main ingredients used to brew beer. While the brand itself is Norwegian, the glass blank was manufactured by a French glassmaking company (such as Luminarc or Arcoroc), which is why France or Made in France is embossed on the base. It was common practice for European breweries to import sturdy clear-glass mugs from French factories to apply their custom corporate branding. So made to look Norwegian.
