Description
This is a vintage signed brooch by Jonette Jewelry Company, the Rhode Island maker known for its richly detailed figural pewter pins. The design forms an open, heart-shaped wreath of full-blown roses and small forget-me-not blossoms, with a swallow in flight at each side — one diving in from the upper right, the other sweeping along the lower left, their long tail feathers trailing past the wreath. The casting is deep and crisp on both faces, with an openwork reverse that carries the ©JJ maker's mark on the lower bird. The finish is a soft antiqued silver/pewter tone.
