Antique English Wooden Biscuit Barrel from the Early 1900’s

Featured is an antique wooden and metal biscuit barrel that was bought in England when I was on vacation there many years ago. The shape is particularly interesting; note the way the sides curve out and in. There’s a silver crest on the front that, interestingly, has never been engraved. I guess it was just waiting for the right owner. Both the top and the handle are also silver. I did not polish them, because I wanted you to see the pattina. The plastic inside has no issues; but note on the back, obviously because of the age, there is a split in the wood. When displayed, there’s no way you can notice it. There is also a sticker, of some sort, on the bottom; it was possibly a price tag that was placed there some time ago. The approximate measurements are 5” width and 6” tall. Considering the age, this piece is in good condition. I don’t hesitate to say the intricate design makes this item very special.
